An interest in spirituality and organic farming led Suman to settle down in Mechira in 1993. He bought about 10 acres of almost barren land. The land also had the residue of chemical pesticide from the previous farming. Mechira is a small village on the foothills of Western Ghats. Due to the largeness of the land holdings in that area people lived quite apart. This also provided sufficient quietness needed for contemplation. The guiding spirits behind these experiments were J. Krishnamoorthy and Fukuoka.

Today in 1999 this land is full of trees–mangoes, coconut, plantain, guava, neem, tamarind, teak, bael and lots of wild trees. About two acres of land is used for cultivating paddy and groundnut, one acre is used for different types of vegetables. There are also lots of different types of medicinal plants, flowering plants etc. From morning to evening all types of birds-peacock, robin, myna, koel, crow, etc. come to the farm. Two–three ponds in the farm also has different types of fish and tootsie. In the night some times rabbits, wild pigs and jackals also come to the farm. This beautiful place is now offered for people interested in contemplation and organic farming to experience and learn.
